Learning Mindfulness Meditation is a Superb Way to Begin Your Spiritual Journey; Daily Spiritual Practice is Essential
Greetings, Seeker.
Have you been seeking a place to begin your spiritual journey? Or, perhaps you know that your spiritual journey has already begun — even long before you felt called to begin.
Whatever the case may be, I would like to suggest that you learn mindfulness meditation in the early phase of your journey of spiritual discovery. I make this suggestion based on more than fourteen years of spiritual study and practice. In my own experience, mindfulness meditation provided me with a stable and strong foundation for everything else I would eventually explore along my spiritual path.
Why Is Mindfulness Meditation a Good Place to Begin My Spiritual Journey?
There are many reasons, dear Seeker. Perhaps the most important one is:
Mindfulness meditation is exceptionally simple, and thus, beautifully elegant.
There are no mantras, no special meditation postures, no objects of desire for manifestation — none of these. In truth, mindfulness meditation is as close to nothingness as you can get, which is why it makes the perfect spiritual practice to start with.
As you make progress along your journey of spiritual discovery — and I say this from my own personal experience as well — you will realize that everything you could have every wanted, ever sought, ever hoped to achieve...
... is already right here, right now.
Everything is already right here, right now.
This is what the spiritual practice of mindfulness meditation teaches you, the humble student. You end where you began, all those years ago...
Well! Let's not get ahead of ourselves now.
How Do I Practice Mindfulness Meditation?
Again, the spiritual practice of mindfulness meditation is exceptionally simple and elegant — which is why the mind has such a hard time with it! Another reason why it is a good place to begin.
Although mindfulness meditation is simple, it can be very challenging.
And, my dear Seeker, what good would it be to set out on the spiritual journey of a lifetime if there were no challenges along the way? The hard work required of you makes the fruits of your practice taste all the sweeter.
If you are wondering how to practice mindfulness meditation, well, I shall not be writing about that — because I have already created an entire 10-Day Beginner Mindfulness Meditation Course, and I am sharing it with you for free!
Working your way through that course is what I recommend you do, if you want to learn how to practice mindfulness meditation. It is far easier, and more effective, to show you rather than attempt to tell you in words.
Why Is Daily Spiritual Practice So Essential?
I think I hardly need to explain this, because you already know it intuitively.
For example, if you want to learn how to play the guitar (which I am currently doing, quite challenging indeed!), then would it be more effective to practice a few times per month, or every day?
Of course, if you want to improve at something, daily practice is more effective. And spiritual development is no different.
Mindfulness meditation is a spiritual practice which helps you develop the skill of mindfulness.
You will learn more about this when you take the 10-Day Beginner Mindfulness Meditation Course, and if you choose enroll as a student here at The Mindful Mage™ School for Spiritual Discovery.
It is quite challenging to maintain a daily spiritual practice when you are first starting out, which is why I am providing these weekly teachings and many more resources at this school, to help you stay on the path.
Beginning and maintaining my daily spiritual practice was one of the most important, beneficial, healing, and transformational decisions of my life. It saved my life many years ago, and to this day, my spiritual practice continues to enrich my experience of being human on Earth (despite all the crazy things happening in our world).
So, my dear Seeker, you have two important choices to make:
- Begin your daily spiritual practice (starting with mindfulness meditation)
- Maintain your daily spiritual practice
In truth, there is only one choice: to practice.
I make this choice every day, and my life is all the better for it. I wish the same for you.
Your teacher,
Devin
